What should be noted when repairing damaged coal mine air ducts

Coal mine ventilation ducts are used for natural ventilation applications in mining engineering construction, usually made of soft plastic ventilation ducts coated with PVC cloth. So how should we repair any damage after application.

1. The overall standard is that after the mine air duct is lifted into the shaft, priority should be given to cleaning and drying, checking the damage and durability level of the mineral air duct cloth, and solving them according to the situation. For those that can be repaired and have resale value, they should be repaired well. For those that cannot be repaired and applied, they can be changed to some large air duct components based on the condition of the air duct, such as short air ducts, bent pipes, three-way fittings, etc. The remaining part can be used for repairing the air duct.

2. When repairing the fabric of the mineral air duct, the adhesive for repairing the air duct should be prepared according to the regulations. The pudding should be cut according to the size of the ulcer surface, preferably in a circular shape. The edge of the pudding should exceed the specification of the ulcer surface by 20mm to prevent warping after sticking. The edge of the pudding should be cut into a slope (or filed with a wooden file). The air duct at the pudding and ulcer surface should be brushed clean of the exposed collagen fiber air duct's original color. After drying, it can be coated with adhesive to carry out bonding. After the pudding is bonded, use a wooden hammer to press it firmly to ensure that it is not ventilated.

Three pairs of large ulcer surfaces with a diameter of about 100mm, and the ulcer surface at the large bend of the air duct (the ulcer surface is large but does not exceed 100mm), should be first sewn and then repaired with adhesive.

The lifting rings on the cloth of the mine air duct should be complete, and the spacing between the lifting rings should ensure that the air duct is suspended vertically. The iron rings on both sides should be sewn firmly. When it is necessary to extend the fabric of the mining air duct, the total width of the bonding strip in the middle of the air duct is usually 200mm.

When welding the air duct ring, it should be carried out according to the relevant requirements of the welder. The ring should be welded firmly by electric welding, flattened and rounded, and the welding joints should be moderately resolved.

When drying, cleaning, and cleaning the air duct, a protective mask should be worn. The air duct must be attached and repaired on the drying or air drying side. The repaired air duct should be stored properly and dried on time to prevent mold growth.

The repaired old air ducts should be stored at specific addresses (including three-way fittings, bent pipes, and connecting joints) according to specifications, models, and specifications, and labeled for easy access.
